STYX 99

Complete conditioning fluid for self-contained toilet systems. Truly, a revolution in transport sanitation.

What is STYX 99?

STYX 99 is the first sanitary cosmetic fluid to be designed by hygiene specialists specifically to meet the demands of aircraft engineers and fleet operators alike.

STYX 99 is a unique combination of deodorants, reodorants, biological stabilisers, fragrance and colour tone, optimised and concentrated to serve the rigorous conditions of modern high speed travel.

Why choose STYX 99 for your passengers?

STYX 99 has been exhaustively tested by independent laboratories and successfully proved in long term real flight trials, statistically assessed by air crew and passengers.

STYX 99 is the officially preferred choice of British Airways plc for all subsonic traffic and was an approved choice for Concorde traffic.

STYX 99 retains its strong, clean, blue colour even in the presence of extreme soil loadings and galley waste.

STYX 99 conditions the washroom with a light, slightly clinical fragrance which lasts and lasts but never cloys or overpowers, even when newly charged.

STYX 99 functions, behind the scenes, every bit as superbly as it flatters up front.

STYX 99 is new, different and made for the task.

Why choose STYX 99 for yourself?

STYX 99 concentrate fully meets the storage and stability criteria of AMS 1476B (1998) at high and low temperature.

STYX 99 in use fully meets the performance criteria of AMS 1476B in function, composition and materials compatibility.

STYX 99 exceeds the microbiological requirements of WHO standards for the prevention of transmission of disease by air travel.

STYX 99 contains no aldehydes nor hazardous materials, is ultimately degradable and acceptable in waste water disposal.

STYX 99 greatly diminishes "tarring" and scaling within the system. Deep cleaning frequencies can be stretched out to gain real savings.

STYX 99 is portion-packed in a portable lightweight dispenser. One unit services a complete 747 or several smaller aircraft.

STYX 99 is clean and safe to handle and charge. No more sticky leaking sachets. No mess. No waste.

How to use STYX 99

Methods of use and customer practices dictate that several complementary packaging systems are employed. In all cases, the designed loading is 1:440 (50ml : 22 Litres) in the initial fluid charge.

1) Direct transfer of fluid to aircraft tanks from service bowser.

Most bowsers are fitted with venturi dilution devices, which allow uptake and automatic dilution from 25L and 205L jerry cans and barrels or from bulk stock.

2) Single shot dosing via toilet bowls.

This technique is prevalent in aircraft fitted with recirculatory toilets. 17 shot calibrated non-drip dispensers are available for this purpose.

3) Sachets

The self-soluble sachet dose method is in disrepute due to the tendency of the polymer film to form an insoluble tar which hinders deep cleaning and may harbour micro-organisms.

STYX 99 is available in flat-pack, single dose sachets of metallised polypropylene foil. The sachet is opened, poured into the toilet bowl and the empty sachet retained for disposal.
