Oil Spill Control
• Oil Spill Dispersants
• Oil Retention
Accidental or catastrophic oil spillage at sea is always a regrettable and high
profile media issue.
Agma research and rapid response capabilities attack the problem from both ends.
Agma manufactures two oil spill dispersants conforming to UK specification LR
448 and licensed by UK DEFRA
(formerly UK MAFF). DR 379 is a Type 2/3 dispersant licensed both for
undiluted spraying from aircraft and for ten-fold sea water dilution prior to
spraying from sea going vessels. OSD 569 is a Type 2 dispersant licensed only
for ten-fold dilution and spraying from ships.
Agma Ltd manufactures the largest quantity of dispersant and delivers in the
shortest lead time of any supplier to European waters.
Agma Ltd supplies to the British Coastguard Marine Pollution Control Unit's
national stockpile by UK government tender and has been proactive in ensuring
rapid response in all major UK incidents during the past 10 years.
Agma Ltd supplies by far the majority of all standby vessels operating in UK
waters.
Agma dispersants are approved internationally for use by 9 sovereign and state
authorities around the oil-producing world.
Agma Ltd has demonstrated its rapid response capability and technical excellence
in the UK, UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Kuwait, Republic of South
Africa and Nigeria.
Agma SOLCON 137 is a hydrocarbon-based heavy duty bilge cleaner and ships
degreaser which actively prevents discharge of oils at sea. SOLCON 137
cleans and removes even the heaviest oils, yet breaks back in the bilges and
collectors to permit monitored water discharges containing less than 15 ppm of
oil. SOLCON 137 helps to meet international maritime discharge criteria
and carries the approval of the British Royal Navy as a quick break bilge
cleaner/degreaser.
